Senior Engineering Team Lead

About the Role:
We are seeking a senior-level engineer to lead an engineering team specializing in developing new designs, reverse engineering existing designs, and creating modifications and repairs to improve product reliability, availability, and address obsolescence challenges. The team develops FAA PMA, DoD SAR, and DER-approved products and repair procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
• Review design iterations before final approval and internal design reviews.
• Maintain project visibility and interact with design engineers and program managers to meet technical and schedule goals.
• Lead technical R&D projects to enhance designs and improve product performance.
• Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions, such as Lessons Learned and Lunch and Learns.
• Collaborate with program managers to prioritize and align project goals with departmental capacity.
• Oversee test resources and operations to ensure effective project execution.
• Manage and communicate hardware needs and allocate workloads effectively.

Education, Skills, and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, preferably with FAA PMA, DER, and DoD SAR approvals.
• Proficient in engineering tools, including ANSYS, MathCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks, and PDM systems.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Experience with electro-mechanical and hydraulic aircraft components.
• Knowledge of quality provisions, including drawing and part requirements.
• Leadership experience in managing design teams and balancing technical and schedule risks.
