Lead Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role:
This is a hands-on leadership position managing a team of approximately five manufacturing engineers. The role involves supporting new product introduction (NPI), overseeing production valve assembly and test efforts, and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers.
- Serve as a high-performing manufacturing engineer while managing team responsibilities.
- Design, develop, and validate assembly and test fixtures.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams on planning, scheduling, and priority-setting for NPI programs.
- Improve manufacturing, assembly, and test processes.
- Create and update routers, procedures, and documentation.
- Support or lead waste reduction, structured problem-solving, and root cause corrective actions.
- Conduct performance reviews, mentor team members, and participate in hiring decisions.
- Manage intern development and support capital expense initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical degree).
- Required Experience: 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Proficiency in fixture design and SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing tools.
- Skills: Strong project management, communication, and team leadership abilities.
