Quality Manager – Aerospace & Defense

We’re looking for a Quality Manager who can lead our quality assurance and control efforts with the kind of rigor and reliability that makes our products and our people mission-ready.

The Role

The Quality Manager will oversee all quality-related activities across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain operations. This leader will drive AS9100 compliance, customer satisfaction, and product reliability while working closely with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific standards

  • Ensure compliance with DoD, FAR/DFARS, and other government quality requirements

  • Develop and manage inspection protocols, quality plans, and internal audit programs

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production to integrate quality at every stage of the process

  • Oversee MRB (Material Review Board), RCCA (Root Cause/Corrective Action), and nonconformance tracking

  • Interface with customers and government agencies during quality audits, FAI (First Article Inspections), and DCMA visits

  • Lead a team of quality inspectors and technicians, setting priorities and developing talent

  • Analyze quality data, generate KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma preferred)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline

  • 7+ years of experience in Aerospace, Defense, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment

  • Proven leadership in managing QMS and external audits

  • Deep knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, FAR/DFARS, and government contracting standards

  • Strong experience with RCCA, PPAP, FAI, and supplier quality

  • Familiarity with tools like ERP/MRP systems, quality databases, and document control systems

  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills

Nice to Have

  • Active Security Clearance or eligibility

  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification

  • Experience with NADCAP or special process auditing

  • Prior exposure to primes like Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, BAE, Boeing, etc.
