Business Development Manager

The Opportunity:
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll lead strategic business capture initiatives across multiple business units. This individual contributor role reports directly to senior leadership and works cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and technical teams to drive growth and customer engagement. You’ll be key in shaping go-to-market strategies and developing relationships with major OEM and defense customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Capture:
Develop and execute winning business strategies.
Leverage competitive intelligence and market research.
Provide pricing strategy input and customer feedback to sales and engineering teams
Sales Execution:
Lead customer visits and discovery efforts.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align customer needs with technical capabilities.
Guide opportunities through bid/no-bid processes and teaming decisions
Own pipeline generation, relationship-building, and capture management
Forecasting & Growth:
Track the entire lifecycle of deals—from lead generation through negotiation and order close
Build forecasts and provide strategic updates to internal business unit leaders
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus
5–10 years of sales or BD experience in aerospace, defense, or related electronics industries
Demonstrated success exceeding revenue goals and developing customer relationships
Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, or similar systems is beneficial
Strong financial acumen and strategic planning skills
Comfortable with up to 60% travel in a hybrid field/office-based role
